Age.

I've had this rose probably as long as I've been living in Vista, nearly 2 years. This rose was pinned to the wall of my office. It was about to fall off the wall, I needed to capture the last moments it stayed around. I felt the pedals dwindle as I checked the quality of the rose. 

Set Up: Canon 7D II with Canon 100mm 2.8 shot at 1/160sec, f/2.8, ISO 1250. All edits were done in lightroom 5. Desaturated, brought up the shadows, tone down the whites, bumped up the clarity. Single light source from the sliding glass door on a cloudy day.

On Location: Carlsbad Flower Field

I always try to make it to the fields once a year. The last time I went was a couple years back for an engagement shoot. It was super fun. Now I have a macro lens and haven't really taken advantage of it yet. It was a really bright day, so some of my shots look blown out on some parts. But it doesn't bother me too much. The flower field has so much to offer. Initially I thought it was just a field, but there are specialty flowers throughout the entire base of the property. I'm surprised I just noticed it now. I even Ryu enjoyed the spot. Smiling from ear to ear knowing spring time is here. 

The sad thing is, I don't know a lot about flowers. I can barely identify a rose. The colors are just so bright and catches my eye. I'm glad to see people bringing their family and camera out. One of the many things I do enjoy about San Diego.

Like always...thanks for looking. Try to visit the fields too before they close. They close on Mother's Day. They usually have a brunch served on the fields. Not Allergy friendly. 

Cruisin' Grand

It's my first time this year visiting downtown during Cruisin' Grand. It was good to see so many people there along with some awesome classics. I don't know too much about classic American rides, but I certainly appreciate them and admire the work that goes into the cars. I walked around the event with my 20D and 100mm 2.8 macro. That's why all my shots are detailed close ups. Next time I'll bring my wide or even a standard lens. Check out some of the pictures in better detail here. Like always, thanks for stopping by.
