On Location: HRE HQ/Targa Trophy

Who knew one of the best wheel distributors was in my backyard. HRE headquarters is literally a 5 minute drive from my place. This Saturday was the start of the Targa Trophy Megarun. For people who don't know, its a rally. It's not a race. It's a rally. Everyone who participates have instructions and meet at check points. It's a driving adventure for the rich in a way. I say rich because a lot of people have high end European cars. Not just BMWs but like rare Porsches and Ferraris. Here are some of the pictures from the event. One of the awesome things about HRE, they opened their doors for the public to see how wheels are made. Check it out when you can. I hope to go to other car events in the future, cause they do it right. It's better than Hot Import Nights in my opinion, plus its free!!!! I saw so many high end cars, it basically spoiled my thoughts of other tuned cars.

GT3 never get old in my opinion.

Look at that fitment, Lambo!

The new Lexus RC!

I'm such a sucker for a good wagon. Functional while looking good.

Clean interior of this Porsche Carrera GT. Check out that wooden shifter.

So pretty.

Even the engine is dressed up....that CF though...

Ford GT so fresh, still has the plastic. HAHAA!

Tony Stark was here.

Raw materials before becoming a wheel.

Such a beautiful event and day. All shots were taken with the Canon 7D mark II with the 20mm f/2.8 lens. Aperture priority mostly at f/5 for day time shooting.

As always, thanks for looking. Til next time HRE!!

Update: Nick's Ford Focus ST

It's been hot as shit lately. But today was the first day I experienced a glimpse of seasons changing. I had to take advantage of the cloud weather. So I did. Nick just got his car washed, overcast present. It was a sign for me to shoot. We drove up to San Marcos/San Elijo's Double Peaks Park which overlooks San Marcos. Here are some of the settings. I used my strobe to fill in the dark shadows. All edits were done in Lightroom.

Check out my old post on it's stock days. It's changed a lot, performance and aesthetically.

Like always, thanks for looking.

Another G shoot!

I guess after seeing some of my photos from the previous night, Tim grabbed another G to join the fun. This was all experimental for me. I usually never shoot with a rig, more stills, but its fun setting up. As long as the lighting and equipment is right. I know some of the shots are kinda redundant but I had to show love to both cars. Like I said, I wanted to practice certain techniques and try to be clean as possible. So it's not like they were done mid day, the shortest exposure was like 2 seconds so everything manual focus on a tripod. So it took some time. If I learn anything from this shoot, I should treat cars like my portraits. I should of put some separation between them, show more of the scenes. But overall, I'm very satisfied from the photos. I want to do more!!! Photoshop and I aren't best of friends, compared to lightroom.

I wish I can tell you more about the white G35. Its done right, lets say that. It's a sleeper car. Don't pull next to it, you'll regret it.

Like always, thanks for looking. If you have any suggestions or tips that I can improve on...lemme know on the comments.
